Researchers developed a rapid, one-pot method that used sunlight and a commercial vincristine formulation to form gold nanoparticles within five minutes without separate reducing or stabilizing agents. The particles retained vincristine’s antiproliferative activity against Colo-205 colon cancer cells and showed greater DPPH radical scavenging than free vincristine at several tested concentrations, while questions about drug photostability, release, stability, and in vivo performance remain. 10/22/2026

Researchers engineered hybrid strontium sulfite nanoparticle-modified lipid nanoparticles to deliver p53 mRNA, producing higher reporter-gene expression, higher p53 transcript levels, and greater apoptosis in breast cancer cells than conventional LNPs. In mice, the p53 mRNA-loaded hybrid carrier slowed 4T1 tumor growth, although the study was small and preclinical, and the clearest biodistribution advantage appeared after PEGylation. 10/21/2026

Researchers Link Thicker Aluminum Electrodes to Two-Thirds Lower TLS Density in Josephson Junctions
Researchers developed a high-throughput workflow that combined cryogenic spectroscopy, automated statistical analysis, and scanning transmission electron microscopy to link fabrication conditions and junction microstructure to the strongly coupled two-level system (TLS) density across about 6,000 Al/AlOx/Al Josephson junctions. They found that thicker aluminum electrodes and larger grains were associated with an approximately two-thirds lower detectable TLS density, while the precise microscopic cause remains unresolved. 10/20/2026

Eggshell Membrane-ZnO Nanohybrid Protects Sperm During Freezing and Shows Promise In Rats
Researchers developed eggshell membrane-supported zinc oxide nanocomposites and found that the thermally synthesized formulation provided the strongest sperm cryoprotection and antimicrobial activity in laboratory tests, including semen from 120 men. In rats, it was associated with changes in reproductive, renal, and tissue measures, but the study did not demonstrate improved fertility through mating or establish a clinical treatment. 10/19/2026
